Meet the Bell Family from Miles From Missouri: Brad, Jessica, their daughters Jordyn and Zoey, and their chocolate lab, Chip. In 2020, they embraced camping for social distancing, starting with tent camping and transitioning to a 2016 Keystone Springdale 2028BH. Drawn to Keystone for its family-friendly layout and quality, they now enjoy the freedom of traveling anywhere with their beloved Keystone RV.

Are you and your family planning your next adventure on the road? Whether you're seasoned RV enthusiasts or embarking on your first journey, the layout of your RV can make all the difference in your comfort and convenience. Keystone RV models offer fantastic options for families, particularly with their well-designed bunkhouse layouts.

Our family finds the layout of our Springdale 2820BH ideal. Positioned at the front end, we enjoy our private bedroom, while the living space provides a natural separation between us and our daughters, who have ample oversized bunk spaces of their own.

To help you make the most of your bunkhouse layout in your Keystone RV, we've compiled some practical advice and organizational tips.

Understand Your Bunkhouse Layout

Before hitting the road, take the time to familiarize yourself with the bunkhouse layout of your Keystone RV. Different models may have varying configurations, such as bunk beds, convertible sofas, or even separate rooms for the kids. Understanding the layout will help you plan and optimize the space efficiently.

Space Optimization

One of the primary advantages of a bunkhouse camper is its ability to maximize space efficiency. By incorporating bunk beds into the design, Keystone can accommodate more sleeping quarters without sacrificing valuable floor space. This is particularly beneficial for families or groups of friends who want to travel together without feeling cramped. With designated sleeping areas, everyone can have their own comfortable space to rest and recharge after a day of exploration. Encourage each family member to personalize their bunk area. Let kids decorate their space with their favorite blankets, pillows, and stuffed animals. This not only adds a touch of home but also helps them feel more comfortable and at ease during the journey.

In our bunkhouse, we optimize space by utilizing wall-mounted storage solutions. Each bunk features a convenient storage basket for items such as books, chapsticks, and water bottles. Additionally, we installed small shelves on the walls, serving both as storage and decorative elements. Our preference for Beddy's zip-up bedding adds to the convenience, making bed-making effortless with its all-in-one sheet and comforter sets, truly revolutionizing our sleeping arrangements.

Family-Friendly Features

For families with children, bunkhouse campers are a dream come true. Kids love the novelty of sleeping in bunk beds, creating memorable experiences that they'll cherish for years to come. Parents can appreciate the convenience of having separate sleeping areas for their little ones, allowing everyone to enjoy a peaceful night's sleep without disturbances. With amenities such as entertainment systems, outdoor awnings, and kitchenettes, bunkhouse campers provide all the comforts of home on the road.

Although our bunk layout lacks an additional room or dedicated entertainment space for the kids, it perfectly caters to our family's needs. Providing each child with their own personal space allows them to retreat when necessary, decorate according to their style, and thoroughly appreciate the setup.

Budget-Friendly Family Fun

Traveling with a family can quickly add up, but bunkhouse campers offer a budget-friendly solution for adventurous families seeking unforgettable experiences. With their efficient use of space and fuel economy, these campers help stretch your travel budget further, allowing you to spend less on accommodations and more on making memories together. Plus, many campgrounds and RV parks offer discounted rates for families, making it even more affordable to hit the road with your loved ones in tow.

For those familiar with us, it's no secret that we prefer budget-friendly travel options. Utilizing our camper as our travel hub not only saves us money but also streamlines trip planning significantly. Enjoying the comforts of home while on the road has become second nature to us, and we're unlikely to change our travel style anytime soon!

Traveling in a bunkhouse RV emerges as the ultimate choice for families seeking adventure without sacrificing comfort and convenience. With their space-efficient design, privacy provisions, and cost-effective nature, the Keystone RV bunkhouses offer a perfect blend of practicality and enjoyment. For us, this family-friendly option fosters bonding moments, encourages exploration, and provides a home away from home on the open road. From maximizing space to accommodating varying needs, the bunkhouse RV proves to be a versatile and reliable companion for unforgettable family journeys, whether it's a weekend getaway or an extended road trip.
