Meet Sarah Korus, a dedicated Brand Ambassador, and her adventurous family, proud owners of a 2022 Carbon 358 Toy Hauler. Always on the lookout for ways to maximize their travel experience, Sarah and her family have spent countless miles exploring the open road. Whether they’re camping in scenic state parks or converting their toy hauler’s garage into a multi-functional space, the Korus family is all about making the most of life on the go!
When we decided to hit the road for three months this summer, we knew that our Toy Hauler's garage could be so much more than just storage space. With the help of Starlink, we were able to work remotely, so creating a functional, flexible space became a top priority.
Here’s how we transformed our Toy Hauler’s garage into the ultimate multi-purpose room!
1. Adding Comfort with Carpet
First, we swapped out the bare flooring for carpet. This instantly made the space feel more like a living area than a garage. It added comfort underfoot, which was especially great for long workdays or when the kids wanted a soft place to play.
2. Installing a Washing Machine
Laundry on the road can be a hassle, especially when traveling for months at a time. So, we installed a compact washing machine in the garage. This saved us countless trips to laundromats and made managing laundry while traveling much more convenient.
3. Creating a Workspace with a Standing Desk
With remote work being part of our travel routine, a dedicated workspace was essential. We installed a standing desk in the garage, giving us a comfortable place to work with flexibility for standing or sitting. It was perfect for getting work done while still feeling connected to the outside world.
4. Optimizing Dining Space
We decided to swap out the traditional large dining table for a smaller, more versatile one. This opened up the space and allowed us to use the garage for meals and as a flexible working area. It became a great spot for quick lunches or work breaks.
5. Removing the Lower Couches from the Happy Jack
To maximize floor space, we removed the lower couches from the Happy Jack. This gave us room to move around and made the space more versatile. Without the bulk of the couches, we could easily transition the room from a workspace to a dining area or even a play area for the kids.
The Result: A Multi-Functional, Comfortable Space
After these changes, our Toy Hauler’s garage became the most functional room in the RV. We were able to seamlessly transition between work, play, dining, and laundry—all in one space. Whether we were working remotely, enjoying a meal, or spending time with the family, this space adapted to our needs perfectly.
