How to Program a Schedule and Set Temperature with the iN-Command System
We’ll explore two essential features of the iN-Command HVAC system: programming a schedule and setting a backup temperature.
Control Options
With the iN-Command system, you can manage your HVAC settings either through the Display Commander (DC) in your RV or via the iN-Command App on your smartphone.
Programming a Schedule
Setting a schedule allows you to program an alternate temperature for each zone in your RV. For instance, if you want the RV cooled to 66 degrees by 6:30 PM, you can program the system to start cooling at 5:30 PM.
Setting a Schedule Using the DC
- Select the Zone: From your iN-Command DC, choose the zone you want to set a schedule for.
- Access Schedule: Tap the Clock icon to display the schedule screen.
- Set Desired Temperature: Use the up/down arrows to set the temperature to 66 degrees.
- Set Start and Stop Times: Adjust the start time to 5:30 PM and the stop time to 10:30 PM using the arrows.
- Save Changes: Press the Home Icon, then confirm by tapping Save.
- Activate Schedule: Press the circle under “Schedule” to activate it, and hit Dismiss to see the active schedule.
Setting a Schedule Using the App
- Open Schedule: Select the Clock icon at the bottom of the app to access the schedule.
- Set Temperature: Use the slide bar to set your desired temperature.
- Set Start and Stop Times: Tap the Start time to select your desired time, then do the same for the Stop time, hitting OK after each.
- Complete Schedule: Tap the check mark to finish setting up the schedule.
- Activate Schedule: Press the circle under “Schedule” to activate it and hit Dismiss. The circle will illuminate, showing your start/stop times.
Turning the Schedule Off
To disable the schedule:
- Press the blue circle under “Schedule” again. It will dim, and the start/stop times will disappear.
Note: If the schedule is active, it will run daily. After the scheduled stop time, that zone will turn off and won’t run again until the next scheduled start time.
Using Mode B
To prevent the system from shutting off completely after the scheduled time, utilize Mode B. This mode maintains a specified temperature when the schedule is not running.
Setting Mode B
- Access Schedule: Press the Home Icon on the DC to return to the schedule screen.
- Activate Mode B: Tap the circle under Mode B to turn it on.
- Set Temperature: Set the temperature to 72 degrees.
- Save Changes: Hit the check mark on the APP or the Home Icon on the DC to save. Ensure the schedule remains active.
Final Setup
Now, you have programmed a schedule to cool your RV to 66 degrees from 5:30 PM to 10:30 PM, and set Mode B to maintain 72 degrees after the scheduled time. The system will automatically switch to 72 degrees at 10:30 PM until manually changed or until the schedule begins again the next day.
You can always override a schedule by adjusting settings through the DC or the APP, but if you want the schedule to run, you must keep it turned on.
